How
much does a performance cost?
Ahhh ... The #1 question that everyone understandably
asks is the price. Well, I've got some good news and bad
news. The bad news is that because there are so
many travel and timing factors that determine the final
costs, we just don't put our rates on the web
site. The good news is that it's honestly not all
that much, especially considering the quality of show
that you will get. If you contact Bromley
Productions, they will be more than happy to quote you a
price.
What
is the age appropriateness for YoJo, how long are the
shows, and what's a typical audience size?
YoJo's shows are appropriate for kids from kindergarten
to 6th grade. (Ages 5 - 12) The performances are
approximately 40-50 minutes in length, and we typically
perform to an audience from 50 to 1,000 in attendance.
Seriously,
isn't this really just for little kids? Won't my older
grades get bored from this stuff?
Not at all! The older grades will enjoy this
program as much, or even more, than the younger
grades. YoJo performances are based from physical
comedy that is always fun, creative, and often pretty
hilarious. Even though YoJo is obviously a
friendly costumed character, he has a totally different
style than "Barney* The Purple Dinosaur", who
caters to a much younger age. Of course, many
teachers and parents also have been known to laugh out
loud and cheer along with their kids.

Barney is a registered trademark of The Lyons
Partnership, LP.
Are
these shows educational or is this just entertainment?
They really are both. Our shows are entertaining
enough for non-educational settings, but because the
huge majority of YoJo's shows are performed at
elementary schools, we strongly feel that our
performances should also have an inspiring and
educational purpose. All of YoJo's shows and
material have been co-developed and approved by current
elementary school educators.
So,
what exactly does a YoJo show entail?
A YoJo show not only includes a high-energy performance
from the big blue guy himself, but a talented show host
is provided to serve as a friendly master of ceremonies.
We also bring a whole van-load of oversized props and
banners, a high-quality sound system, and specialized
audio equipment for digital sound effects and
music. A lot of attention and detail has been
given to the show production to make this a wonderful
and exciting event for everyone.
How
long has YoJo been around?
YoJo made his debut on March 2nd (Read Across America
Day) of 2000. Since then, YoJo and his crew have
performed over 1,400 live shows to hundreds of thousands
of kids across the east coast of the United States and
points beyond. The response to YoJo has been
overwhelmingly positive and we have often made several
repeat visits to many of those schools and
organizations.
Do
you sell YoJo T-shirts during your shows?
Not typically. Most of YoJo performances take
place at elementary schools during school hours, so it's
a very inappropriate venue to vend merchandise. We
do give a T-shirt away to an audience volunteer, and we
also give a T-shirt to our contact person just to say
"Thanks!" We do sell YoJo T-shirts at other
venues, but we will always arrange this before the event.
Does
YoJo do birthday parties?
No, sorry. YoJo is not a birthday party act, and
his shows are intended for larger audiences.
Are
you insured?
What an excellent question ... one that should be asked
a lot more frequently. Yes, all of our performers are
insured on a multi-million dollar liability policy and
we would be more than happy to show you our certificate.
**
For reasons of safety, liability, and peace of mind, you
should always ask this of anyone you are considering to
perform for hire.
Okay,
final question: What exactly is YoJo anyway?
Hmmm ... we're not too sure about that one ourselves.
YoJo isn't any type of particular animal. He's
basically a fuzzy, sometimes clumsy, overgrown kid who's
very energetic and animated. To our knowledge, the
word "YoJo" does not mean anything in any
language, but we did discover recently that there is a
important wooden sculpture called YoJo which is in the
literary classic, Moby Dick.
